TREATS - Sammamish Winter Backroads

Join us for a ride from Redmond's East Lake Sammamish Trailhead (behind Whole Foods) on a 30 mile route at Steady Pace (12-14 mph)!

This quiet, somewhat hilly route explores the trails and backroads of Sammamish. From the East Lake Sammamish Trail, we will warm up with a climb up the Sammamish Plateau via Louis Thompson Rd and wind through quiet neighborhoods to our first rest stop at Pine Lake. Our route continues through Beaver Lake neighborhoods to our next stop at Beaver Lake Park. After lunch at Starbucks, we will climb our final hill before dropping down to Happy Valley, whose Grange and farms harken back to simpler times.

Let's meet at the East Lake Sammamish Trailhead and please be ready to ride at 10 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, regrouping at the top. Our goal will be to regroup frequently along the route.

Portable restrooms, but no water are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 8, 14 and 21. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks/lunch at Starbucks at mile 21.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please be prepared for wet conditions with fenders.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below by 8 am and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
