Christmas and Caffeine Annual Ride
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
The annual Christmas and Caffeine ride has a new route - all of the coffee stops near Alki that we've used in the past are closed Christmas day this year. After opening presents in the morning and before overeating Christmas dinner, get a head start on the Xmas calories and join us for a relaxed ride from Mercer Island to Issaquah and one of the few open Starbucks. This is a nice ride on a low traffic day with a coffee/snack stop at the Starbucks in the Fred Meyer/Home Depot shopping center. Style points will be awarded for holiday decorated bikes and riders.
Let's meet at the corner of 71st Ave SE and SE 22nd Street on Mercer Island. This is along Lid (Aubrey Davis) Park, right next to the I-90 trail and there is plenty of parking and a real restroom close by. Please be ready to ride at 10 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. It's a good idea to arrive early!
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the ride leader will cancel the ride at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
The ride leader will not be at the ride start should weather meet the definition for cancellation (showers). Ride cancellation will be announced in the Comments Section below at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start and the ride leader will monitor the phone and email listed.
