FRUMPS - Cedar River Trail to 4 Corners - return Soos Creek Trail

Come out and join us at Ron Regis Park in Renton.  We will ride up the Cedar River Trail to picturesque Dorre Don. After a photo-op on an old Rail Road bridge, there will be hard-packed gravel for 0.2 miles. There is a second section of hard packed gravel (0.2 miles) just before lunch.  The early lunch stop (about 11:30 am) will be at Panera Bread. Check the link below for the menu.  The route then winds through forest neighborhoods over to Lake Meridian.  A third section of gravel (0.2 miles) keeps us off the busy Covington-Lake Sawyer Road.  The Soos Creek Trail is a paved trail that meanders through natural wetlands for 5 miles back to Renton. There is a short pitch up a 6% grade for 100 yards but we will wait for everyone at the top.  Just before the end, there is a 10% descent for 1 mile down 140th Ave.  We should be back at the start about 2:30 - 3:00 pm.

Start: Let's meet in the parking lot of Ron Regis Park at 10:00 am for the pre-ride safety briefing and route review.  We will depart after the briefing.  If you miss the safety briefing, you will not be allowed to ride with the group. 

What to bring:  Supplies and tools to fix a flat, cell phone in case you cannot finish, water bottles, and pocket snacks.

Restrooms: Start, Lunch at Panera Bread (mile 14.5), Soos Creek Trail (mile 29.4)

Cancelation: In the event of showers or unsafe conditions, the ride leader will not be at the start but will post a cancelation notice in the Comments section below before 8:00 am on the day of the ride.  It is always wise to check the Comments before you drive to the start of a ride. Rain during the ride could modify the route.
