Free Group Ride
Lake Sammamish Loop
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Issaquah Tibbetts Valley Skate Park in Issaquah on a 24 mile route at a Moderate pace at 14-16 MPH. Salmon Days is ongoing this weekend, so we will avoid the road closures and start and end at Tibbetts Valley Skate Park. Abundant parking should be available at the Tibbetts Valley Skate Park or across the street at the Issaquah Park & Ride.
This route loops one of the most beautiful and scenic bodies of water in Western Washington: Lake Sammamish. We will start and finish in Issaquah, enjoy some paved trail time along the way, and have a fun, safe social ramble focused on health and happiness.
Let us meet at Issaquah Tibbetts Valley Skate Park in the Issaquah Tibbetts Valley Skate Park Parking Lot, and please be ready with your bike to ride before 09:00. We will start with a required safety briefing at 09:00, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group, even if you have heard similar briefings many times before.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.
Restrooms are usually available at the start with running water, however unforeseen circumstances may find them locked, so please anticipate the worst and hope for the best, and plan accordingly. There is another opportunity to stop along the way in Marymoor Park at Mile 12.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group as the goal is to keep everyone drier than Lake Sammamish itself.
Weather cancelation criteria will also include ice, snow, high winds, excessive storm debris, and degraded air quality (AQI > 75) and will be assessed two or more hours prior to planned departure, in addition to the weather cancelation criteria listed above. Additionally, if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
