Free Group Ride
Scott's Fall City-Blue Barn Loop
Event has already happened.
This is a variation of the famous Red Barn ride with a couple of twists including a predominate BLUE BARN. A mostly flat social ramble in the rural Snoqualmie River Valley with a stop for refreshment at Starbucks in Carnation on the way back. Pace will be about 15-16 mph on the flats when there is no wind.
Please be at Fall City Community Park and ready to ride at 9:30 AM when we will do the safety briefing and get on the road. Bring ID; spare tube, tools, pump, patch kit, and skills to fix flats; and a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails. If roads are wet, rooster tails from bare tires are a safety issue for other riders. Fenders with long mudflaps are encouraged. Be sure that batteries are fully charged for everything that needs mobile power (electronic shifting, GPS devices, cell phones, e-assist bikes, lights, etc).
Porta-pot (quality always in question) but no water at the start. Pit toilet at Chinook Bend Park at mile 11.4. Restroom and water on the return leg at Carnation at mile 23. A route map and cue sheet are at the Link, below. If you need a cue sheet, please print one.
If weather conditions meet the weather-cancels criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, I will post a ride-cancelled message for registered riders at least two hours prior to ride time and will not be at the start location.
