Eastside to Edmonds Ferry (for Kitsap Color Classic)

Join me for a ride from Hidden Valley Park on a 20 mile (1300 feet climbing) route at Brisk 16-18mph pace!

This is a one-way ride to the Edmonds Ferry for those on the Eastside doing the Kitsap Color Classic who are looking to ride there together. Starting at 7am in order to catch the 8:50am ferry. If we arrive early, we can grab a coffee. 

I'll be at the Hidden Valley Park (of 112th Ave NE, in front of Boys and Girls Club) ready to ride at 7am. I will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

The route has a couple of hills in Kirkland and then climbing up from Bothell. We'll keep a brisk pace but this is meant as a social ride and we'll save our legs for the proper KCC. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths (a small portion of the BGT) to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. We will NOT stop along the way for restrooms/water. If we have time before the ferry, we can grab a coffee in Edmonds.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions (such as air quality issues) or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

To be clear, this Cascade free group ride ends at the Edmonds ferry. I'm happy to keep riding the KCC together but it will not be part of this ride. You are also responsible to make your way back. I have posted a return route and cuesheet and you can use this for the return, but the return will not be a Cascade free group ride.
