Free Group Ride
**CANCELLED** Hyak to Lake Easton
Event has already happened.
Join us for a 34-mile gravel and social ride, steady pace 12 to 14 mph, starting at Hyak Sno-Park. Please come armed with a Discover Pass or pay for parking. We will ride a gravel trail to Lake Easton alongside Keechelus Lake, a beautiful vista. We recommend tires over 32 mm.
There are plenty parking spaces as well as facilities at the start, and there are restrooms on the trail.
We will stop at Lake Easton, about mile 17, where there are also facilities and enjoy an approximately 30-minute lunch at the edge of the lake. The downside is that you will need to bring your own lunch, there being no option at the lake. The return will be a reversal of the outward bound leg.
This ride involves 1134 ft of ascent with a short tunnel. We will regroup as necessary.
Meet at Hyak Sno-Park parking lot and please be ready to ride at 10:00am. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing, you may not be able to ride with the group.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
