Event has already happened.
This is a history ride to visit and learn facts about various historic and interesting sites around Bellevue.
We will meet at Bellevue Downtown Park (210 100th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98004) just east of the 100th Ave SE parking lot on the park's big circle pathway. Parking can be found in parking lots nearby. Transit access includes Sound Transit bus route 550 about half a mile from the start. Bicycle access is from routes along Lake Washington Blvd NE and 108th Ave NE.
Please be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
There are a total of 12 short stops on this ride during which the ride leader will give some details about the history/geography/etc. for a couple of minutes. We will take a restroom & water/snack breaks at Newcastle Beach Park (mile 8.3).
The route is mostly on paved roads and trails with short stretches on packed gravel.
Please note: due to all of the starts/stops, this ride is expected to last around 4-5 hours (estimated finish after 2:00 pm).
Click Register Now above if you would like to attend this ride.
Please bring basic tools (extra tubes, patch kit, etc.) as well as water and snacks, as it may be warm that day. Have a back-up plan in case you are unable to finish (friend/family who can pick you up, ORCA card to use public transit).
Cancellations: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride, and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location.
Restrooms: there are restrooms at the start/finish (Bellevue Downtown Park - Inspiration Playground), Meydenbauer Bay Park (mile 0.5), Enatai Beach Park (mile 5.8), and Newcastle Beach Park (mile 8.3).
Cue sheet: Route link cue sheets will not be provided. Please print one using the RideWithGPS link below if desired.
E-bikes: This is an e-bike-friendly ride. Please consult the "Can I ride my e-bike on a Free Group Ride?" section on the Cascade Free Group Ride FAQ's link for more information. Be sure to have your battery/power pack fully charged before you arrive for the ride.
