Event has already happened.
Round trip from Matthews Beach to Medina Beach Park.
Ride start: Please ready to ride by 11 am for the required SMART briefing before leaving on the ride. Water and restrooms are available at the start location.
Route: Come have fun and enjoy this bike ride from Matthews Beach to Medina Beach and back. Restrooms available at the Medina City Hall/Beach Park were we take a short break mid-ride. The terrain is fairly flat with some hill climbing on the 520 bridge section and north bound in Medina. Route goes through Urban Center for Horticulture that has some gravel for about a mile. The 520 is closed to traffic this weekend so come enjoy the quiet!
Fenders: If the roads are wet, come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the rider behind you dry or be the caboose.
Parking: Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Be sure to secure your valuables.
Pace: The pace is steady at 12-14 mph.
Food: Bring food or snacks to eat on the ride, there will be no lunch break.
Mechanical: Be prepared to handle mechanical issues, if you have a problem e.g. flat tire. Bring a spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump and skills to fix flats and have a mobile phone and a plan for rescue in case your bike fails.
Cue sheets: See RideWithGPS route
Weather cancellation: If "Showers cancel" conditions exist on ride day, I'll post a ride-canceled message in the Comments block below, not later than two hours prior to start time. If the weather looks iffy, check here before leaving for the ride.
