Free Group Ride
TREATS: Mercer Island -- May Valley -- Issaquah
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Mercer Island to Issaquah via scenic May Valley. Restrooms and water are available at the start. There are also restrooms at miles 7.7 and 32.5. Lunch will be at Panera Bread Issaquah, mile 23.3. Return will be via Newport Way, then clockwise around the circumference of Mercer Island.
Let's meet at Aubrey Davis Park on the Mercer Island Lid near the tennis courts, at the intersection of SE 22nd St. and 71st Ave SE.
Please be ready to ride at 10:00am. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when it's done. If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
This ride will be at a Steady pace, which means that to keep up with the group you must be able to maintain a speed of 12-14 MPH on flat terrain with no tailwind. Each rider, however, can climb hills at their own pace, and we will regroup at the tops. Electric-assist bicycles are welcome. We won’t be able to wait long for anyone substantially off the pace. Please bring navigation aids in case you need to finish on your own, as the ride becomes self-led for those ahead of or behind the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader may not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
