Training Ride #1 for Cascade's "Ride from Redmond to Bellingham and Back" Event

Join us for a ride from Factoria on a 38 mile route at 12-14 MPH!

This is a ride I have planned for cyclists who participated in the 2022 Cascade Training Series (CTS) or a similar endurance training series, and want to keep their fitness for Cascade's upcoming "Ride from Redmond to Bellingham and Back" event (R2B2). It's a chance to meet one another and keep those impressively long distance training accomplishments from deteriorating between the Seattle to Portland (STP) and the R2B2. This ride is NOT Limited to CTS participants, but those who have done rides over 50 miles in the last month or so would find this less challenging.  More rides will be posted over the next few weeks between next Saturday and the R2B2. Today's ride is only about 40 miles, so cyclists who participated in the STP don't have to be concerned about burning out their legs so soon afterward. 

Let's meet at Factoria Mall on the west side near the Novilhos Restaurant, and please be ready to ride at 9:00 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms should be available at the start. Factoria Mall is usually open by that time. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at the Arboretum (Mile 11.7) and at Marymoor Park (Mile 24.7). 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, I will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and will not be at the start location.
