FRUMPS: Lake Sammamish Loop from Blyth Park with Coffee

Join us for a ride from Blyth Park in Bothell on a 44 mile route on trails and roads at moderate pace (14-16 mph). We will ride south to Redmond and Issaquah, where we'll have a coffee stop, then complete a loop of Lake Sammamish.

Please be at the start at the time listed above. We begin with a route briefing and safety talk, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. There's ample parking at Blyth. Those driving to the start from the south may want to park in the gravel lot at the former Wayne Golf Course on 96th Ave NE/Waynita Way, which is just a few hundred yards west of Blyth Park which you can access by bike on the trail through the tunnel.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently.  We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms and water are available at the start. The coffee stop is at a Starbucks at mile 22.7, and there are optional restroom stops at miles 12.7 and 37. Make sure you have plenty to drink along the way, and plenty of sunscreen.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case, and have a plan for getting home or back to the start in case you or your bike are unable to finish the route.

Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Mud flaps/buddy flaps, especially if the reach to 2 to 4 inches above the pavement, are a great benefit to the rider behind you when roads are wet.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
