Seward Park - Resistencia - Green River

Join us for a ride from Cedar River Park on a 26-mile route at Moderate pace (14-16 mph)!

In the spirit of the holiday weekend, let's sleep in a bit and enjoy a ride that gets the work done early. We'll start on the Cedar River (the Park is accessible from the Cedar River Trail for those riding there). We'll get the hills out of the way at Seward Park and Chief Sealth before dropping into Georgetown. We'll cross the Duwamish River for a relaxed coffee at Resistencia, and enjoy a flat ride back on the Green River Trail.

Let's meet at Cedar River Park behind the Renton Community Center - look for us near the baseball field. Please be ready to ride at 10:30 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum - usually 15 MPH, but we'll slow down a bit more than that for any folks and animals we see out and about.

Restrooms and water are available at the start. We will stop along the way for optional restrooms/water at miles 7.3 & 13.6. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Resistencia at mile 16.4.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
