Hills in Shoreline and Kayu Kayu Ac Park

Join us for a mid-week afternoon ride from Echo Lake in Shoreline on a 19 mile route at Moderate pace (14-16 mph) on the flats (which are few)!

If you are looking for a hilly ride with a few challenging climbs, this ride is for you! We will start at Echo lake, climb and descend some of the hills on the east side of Shoreline, then cross over Aurora Ave N and down to Kayu Kayu Ac Park for a break and hopefully some views. Then we climb some of the hills on the west side of Shoreline and descend back to Echo Lake. We will regroup at the top of major hills for a reasonable time, but if you are too fast/slow for the majority, it will become self-paced. Stops will be brief. We want everyone to ride hard but to have fun and get back safely.

Let's meet at Echo Lake Park near the restroom and please be ready to ride at 3:30PM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

No water is available on the route, so bring your own and nutrition. Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for a rest break at approximately mile 15.5, and enjoy the views at Kayu Kayu Ac Park. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.

Because of the steep and fast descents, the ride will only take place if the roads are mostly dry and it isn't raining. 

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
