Free Group Ride
**CANCELLED** Enatai Beach Happy Hour
Event has already happened.
Are you stressed out after a long day of grinding at the office? Listen, I feel you. But it's just not healthy to spend an hour or two unwinding at the pub. You know what IS healthy? Spending that hour or two after work on your bike! Fortunately, your friends in West Bellevue are here to help.
Join me for a mini-series of after-work rides from Enatai Beach, ranging from 20-25 miles. Due to construction on the boathouse, we meet in the upper parking lot under the overpass.
The festivities start at 6:00pm sharp with a fun and engaging review of Cascade's tried and true Safety Instructions™. Regretfully, I must remind you that If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. It's for your own safety, really.
We ride at the "Moderate" pace, meaning 14-16mph except on hills. Most routes will have hills. Not to worry, you can wait for me at the top. We will regroup there, and anywhere else it looks like we're starting to spread out. It's a good idea to print out a handy cue-sheet, or load the route into your phone, just in case.
Thanks to the City of Bellevue Parks Department, the Enatai Beach boathouse is equipped with excellent, clean bathrooms. Sadly, they're closed right now for the construction, though portable bathrooms were available last I checked.
Sadly, bike rides occasionally encounter mishaps. Paying attention to the Safety Instructions™ at the start should reduce your odds of major mishaps. Still, you may get a flat tire or your bike may let you down in some other way. It's important that you come to the ride with the skills, tools, and parts needed to fix a flat tire, or handle other minor mechanical issues. New to riding? Cascade runs an excellent Fix-a-Flat class that will turn you into a flat-fixing pro in no time!
Of course, we do need to talk about the rain. Always the rain. Because we are hardy riders of the Pacific Northwest, this ride will roll out unless it's snowing, icy, or there's lightning. If that's happening, or something else unexpected comes up, I will post a cancellation two hours prior on the Cascade ride page. In the case of heavy rains, we may ride the 11-mile Short Course instead. If the roads are wet, please ensure you have full-length fenders.
