Yellow Ride #7 starts at the Newport Hills Park & Ride just south of Factoria (exit 9 off of 405). Please note the there are no restrooms at the start (first restroom stop located at Boren Park)!!!
The ride begins with gentle climbs through country roads in May Valley, Cedar Grove, Ravensdale, Cumberland, and Black Diamond. Before we arrive in Black Diamond, there are spectacular views of the Green River Gorge (MP 42.6), where you will have the opportunity to stop and take photos. After enjoying the view, we'll make our way to the Black Diamond Bakery, which has delicious pastries, cakes, pies, and great coffee (we can enjoy a scoop of ice cream or an Italian soda on a warm day). The ride continues through rolling hills in Maple Valley and onto the Cedar River Trail which will eventually bring us into Renton. We'll have our final breather at Gene Coulon Beach Park, which will include a restroom stop and views of Lake Washington. Our ride concludes with rolling hills on the south east side of Lake Washington and ridng a bit along the Eastrail Trail and a gentle climb back to the Newport Hills P&R.
