**CANCELLED** CTS Yellow #5: Redmond - Snohomish
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
This is ride number 5 for the CTS Yellow pace. This will be the first time of the season that we venture into the rural beauty of local farmlands and the grandeur of the Snoqualmie river valley. The ride will start out of the Redmond Bear Creek Park and Ride. We will have a start of ride restroom break just two miles down the road at Perrigo park.
The ride has fairly moderate elevation profiles with climbing phases in the first half as well as the second half of the ride. This ride will also be our first for a full lunch break at the Haggen store in Snohomish. A few changes to this ride from our normal routing:
- Mile 20: Part of Tualco road is closed and there is a marked detour which will take us on Tualco Loop road which runs kind of North West of our normal route on Tualco road. The detour will join up again with Tualco road, right next to Swiss Hall!
- Restroom stop in Monroe… Due to some issues, we cannot rely on using the bathrooms at Lewis park which is off to the right after we come over the bridge into Monroe. Instead, we will take a detour off of main street and head over to the Tyee park restrooms at mile 26.6
Cautions:
- Around the 14+/- mileage as we descend down Woodinville Duvall road, Joni noticed that there are some new asphalt sections that have ridges. Advise for groups to take the center of the lane as we go down that hill. Advise considering leader check speed as you go through that area.
- Mile 37.6, Three way intersection at Airport Rd and Marsh Rd, remember to call out to riders at that stop sign, that cars coming from the right do NOT stop!
- Mile 55.3, As we come off of Avondale for a left turn on to Conrad Olson road, strongly consider taking a “Cascade Left” at that intersection so as to cross Avondale with the light. This meaning, take a right on 95th ave, do a U-Turn and assemble the group for a straight shot across the intersection with the light.
Finish note: Instead of going to the light to turn left onto the street where you will drive into the Park and Ride, you can take a left right off of Union Hill road and enter the Park and Ride from the North side.
