Free Group Ride
CTS Red #11: Metric Century
Event has already happened.
Welcome to CTS ride #11, the Red Metric Century! this will be the longest ride OF THE SERIES, with a distance of 71 miles and an elevation Gain of 2100 feet.
This ride starts at Magnuson Park W-6 Parking Lot, and then heads south along Lake Washington Blvd to Renton, following the route for the beginning of the STP. From Renton, we head east along the Cedar River Trail to Cedar Grove, and then take the Issaquah-Hobart Road to Issaquah for our lunch break. There's a Safeway and a Starbucks available. The route takes the East Lake Sammamish Trail and East Lake Sammamish Parkway to Marymoor Park in Redmond. Then we take the Sammamish River and Burke Gilman Trails to return to the start.
This will be a long day in the saddle. As always, you should pack water and snacks, print a cue sheet and have everything you need with you to fix a flat or other mechanical issue. There is no water available at the start, so please arrive with two full water bottles.
Let's meet at the start, and be ready to ride at 8:00. Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early so that you can get yourself ready. SMART briefing and ride announcements start promptly at 8:00am, and we will roll as soon as that is done. Riders not present for the safety briefing will not be allowed to ride with the group.
Please review the Comments Section before the morning of the ride for any final updates. Route may be updated there as well as weather updates and cancellations.
