Free Group Ride
CTS Red #3: Magnuson - Seward Park
Event has already happened.
Welcome to CTS Week #3. This week we will ride the classic Magnuson to Seward Park route. We start at the Cascade Bicycle Club and ride through Magnuson Park, jump on the Burke-Gilman trail, and then wind our way through the University of Washington. After we cross over the 520, we will ride through the Montlake neighborhood, with a fun downhill to Lake Washington Boulevard. After a quick stop at Seward Park for restrooms and water, we will return to the Cascade Bicycle Club by winding our way back along Lake Washington, and then riding through the University of Washington Arboretum.
Please be ready to ride at 9:00am so we can leave on time. Plan to arrive sooner than 9:00 to give yourself time to get ready. SMART briefing and ride announcements start at 9:00 a.m and we will roll when that is done. Riders not present for the safety briefing will not be allowed to ride with the group.
Parking is available at the Club, as well as elsewhere at Magnuson Park behind Arena Sports. Restrooms and water are available at the start and at the mid-point in Seward Park. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Please review the Comments Section before the morning of the ride for any final updates. Route may be updated there as well as weather updates and cancellations.
If you can, please join us after the ride for a lunch/social, next to the CBC offices, at the Magnuson Pub where we can get to know one another while not rolling:-)
