Free Group Ride
FRUMPS: Interurban, Alderwood & Locust Way
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Matthews Beach on a 32 mile route at Steady pace (12-14 mph)!
We'll start climbing over the ridge to check out the new overpass at the Northgate Link station, then get on the Interurban trail and take that all the way to Alderwood Mall, where we will stop for coffee/lunch/snacks. The way back, via Locust Way and the Burke Gilman Trail (BGT), will be a breeze.
Let's meet at the Matthews Beach and please be ready to ride at 10:00 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently, at tops of hills and turns.
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at Bitter Lake Community Center, Alderwood Panera, and Log Boom Park at miles 7.5, 18, & 27, respectively. Panera Bread at Alderwood Mall will be a ~30 minute food stop.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
