Paradise Valley - Counterclockwise

Join us for a ride at Paradise Valley Conservation Area, near Maltby, on a 7.7 mile mountain bike singletrack route at Super Strenuous [22mph+], think 2.5+ w/kg equivalent!

This ride's attractions are roots, twisty curves, and plenty of them!  If 7.7 miles is not enough, extra laps of any part of the route are a great option.

Let's meet at the Paradise Valley Conservation Area parking lot and please be ready to ride at 5pm. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).  We will be mindful and cautious of walkers, horses, and other path users by always using our voice before passing at a controlled and courteous pace.  

A portable toilet is available at the start. We will not stop along the way for restrooms/water. 

Equipment: a mountain bike with suspension will be the best choice for this ride.  A cross or gravel bike with tires 32mm or wider could work but keeping up would be very difficult.  A road bike with road tires is not recommended.  Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Have a backup plan if your mechanical can not be fixed on site, but the walk to the parking lot is never farther than about 1.5 miles.  Fenders are optional.  It is starting to get dark around this time, especially in the trees, so please bring a headlight.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
