Eastside Hills #9

Join us for a ride of a great route, starting from Hidden Valley Park in Bellevue!   The total riding distance will be 82 miles and we'll ride at a vigorous pace (18 - 20MPH) on the flats.  We'll ride from Bellevue up to Edmonds, take the ferry to Kingston, go across the bridge to Bainbridge Island, ride around the island, then take the ferry from Bainbridge to Seattle, and finally we will bike back to Bellevue.  This ride has lots of ups and downs and some great scenery along the way.   It is sure to give your legs a good workout and it should be fun.

Let's meet at the Parking Lot for Hidden Valley Park and please be ready to ride at 8:00. We will start with the required safety briefing, and will roll out when it is done.   If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. 

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at the top of each hill. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. Water and restrooms are available on both ferry trips.  There is also a Safeway mid-way through the ride on Bainbridge where we can stop if need be.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.  Also, be sure to bring money for both ferry trips.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions (including poor air quality) or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
