Renton Comm Center to Soos Creek Trail
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Today’s ride will put together the Cedar River Trail, 140th (long steep hill) to the Soos Creek Trail out and back. We start at Renton Community Center and then ride up 140th, we will be using some cross walks and a small area on the side walk, so we need to be aware of pedestrians. We will regroup at the top of hills when needed. Please be aware the speed limit between Renton Community Center and Ron Regis is 10mph, the pace of the ride is 10-12mph, we will climb hills at our own pace and stay about 11mph on the flats. 140th has a nice bike lane on both sides of the road.
Let's meet at Renton Community Center in Renton, near the restrooms, and please be ready to ride at 10:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
Restrooms are available at the ride start location.
Weather: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
Mechanical issues: You should be prepared to fix a flat tire, with tools, tubes and the ability to change the tire yourself. Please have a backup plan in case you are unable finish the ride or have mechanical issues.
We hope you can join us!
