Great Scott! Thursday Social

Explore Seattle's back streets at a comfortable pace with a sociable crowd. Every Thursday, a regular bunch of old friends and a curious bunch of new friends ride as far as evening light permits, venturing places seldom seen via routes seldom taken. We won't go looking for a challenge (we'll never ride the Counterbalance), but neither do we avoid one; we'll gradually top a hill or two and savor the view along the way. Bring money for dinner afterward. Heavy rain means we eat early.

This Week's Ride

This week's ride will take us to Discovery Park and Magnolia. In true "Scott" style, there's no route map link below, so show up and follow the leader(s). We'll definitely climb some hills and ride about 15 miles, similar total elevation gain to last week. Future rides will range from about 12 to 18 miles with varying elevation gains, depending on the length of daylight and ride leader's whims:-)

For Every Ride...

Let's meet at Gas Works Park and please be ready to ride at 6:15. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group. Carry water, a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case and front and rear lights are recommended for your ride home. Always bring your sense of humor and patience; this is a Great Scott ride:-)

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
