Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Ash Way Park & Ride on 44.2-mile route at Moderate pace, 14-16 mph on the flats.
The route rolls down to Lake Washington, then clockwise around the lake to Kirkland, rambles a bit on Yarrow Point, crosses the 520 bridge and makes its way back to Lynnwood. There are some sustained climbs and steeps on this route.
Let's meet at the northeast lot of the Park & Ride at 7:45 a.m. for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 8 a.m.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally.
Restrooms and water are not available at the start. We will make bathroom and water stops at the Kirkland Marina, mile point 16.2, and Log Boom Park, mile point 35.8. We will not be doing a food stop, but will take a few minutes to enjoy the view of the lake from the UW campus, allowing time for a snack if you bring one.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
