Free Group Ride
Eastside Hills
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride of ten great hills, starting from downtown Kirkland! The total distance will be 58 miles and we'll ride at a vigorous pace (18 - 20MPH). This ride loops around the eastside, heading through Bellevue, Issaquah, Samammish, and Woodinville, picking up a number of good hills, and allowing us to enjoy some great roads like Kilarney Way and Paradise Lake Road. This ride will give your legs a good workout and it should be fun.
Let's meet at the Kirkland Transit Center at 8:45 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:00. The Kirkland Transit Center is next door to the Kirkland Library. We'll meet between the library and the baseball fields. The library parking garage has four hours of free parking.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at the top of each hill. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at the QFC on Novelty Hill Road at about mile 34.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
