Event has already happened.
Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike. Please note: If you are not present for the full safety briefing, including COVID-19-specific portion, you will not be allowed to ride with us, so please be on time.
This is Casey Hawley’s second mentored ride. Join us for a beautiful ride through the Snohomish River Valley and help make her a ride leader. This is a 29.6 mile route at steady pace (12-14 mph). We will be riding on paved trails and roads. Let’s meet at the Machias Station trail head at 9:45 AM for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10:00 AM.
We will head south on Centennial Trail through downtown Snohomish then follow the Lowell river road into Everett. With a short ride through Everett including a trail along the Hwy 2 trestle we will arrive on the opposite side of the river. These quiet country roads provide a tranquil ride through the river valley. We will take a stop along the river for pictures and time for a quick snack. Then we continue back through downtown Snohomish before heading north on Centennial trail back to Machias Station. There are toilets and water at the start if needed then at miles 12.8 and 23.8
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
