Join us for a ride from Log Boom Park on a 33.9 mile route at Brisk 16-18!
Starting from Kenmore we transverse Juanita Hill avoiding the traffic by going around Inglewood Golf course. We dip into Saint Edwards Park on some easy gravel trails then drop back to the lake using beautiful Holmes Point Road. After descending into Kirkland we slow down and check out Juanita bay park. Next some fun neighborhood roads and some spectacular views of Lake Washington. We follow the lakefront to the 520 trail and head SE on Northrup Way. Now we enter onto the Cross Kirkland Trail and start headed back North. The trail ends followed by some neighborhood meandering and pick up the Tolt Pipeline Trail that we take to the top of Norway Hill. Done with the dirt we descend North and pick up the smooth flat Burke Gilman Trail and follow it back to the start.
This ride can easily be done on a road bike. The Gravel of the Cross Kirkland Trail is very easy. Lights are required. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
Let's meet at the Log Boom Park East of the restrooms at 6:15 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 6:30.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles Marina Park about mile 12.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
