Ride through the Valley for Coffee
Event has already happened.
Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please click the red "Cancel My Registration" button above so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.
Join us for a ride from Kent on a 19.0 mile route at a steady pace between 12 and 14 mph!
Let us take a nice morning ride through the valley in Kent and Auburn. We will ride on trails (Green River and Interurban) and roads. After riding we will end down the road from the Park and Ride at the Mocha Cafe. This is a ride to get out and enjoy some good time pedaling with good company.
Let's meet at the Kent/James Park and Ride at 8:50 am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:00 am. Everyone must be attendance for the pre-ride briefing in order to join the group on the ride.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.
Restrooms are not available at the start. The closest open public restrooms are at Hogan Park on Russell Road. If needed, we will detour at mile 17 to this restroom. We’ll also stop for coffee at Dilettante Mocha Cafe at Kent Station at mile 18.5. Grab a cuppa coffee by the outside fire to end our ride!
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
