Matthews Beach to Woodinville and back

Please note: During COVID-19 restrictions, all Free Group Rides are limited in the number of allowed participants. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

We will observe current social distancing guidelines when off the bike, and strive to maintain at least 10-12ft separation between riders when on the bike.

Join us for a ride from Matthews Beach on a 21 mile mostly-flat ride on mostly car-free trails at steady pace (12-14mph)!

From Matthews Beach we will take the Burke-Gilman Trail and the Sammamish River Trail to our mid-point at Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville.  If you have done Cascade's Getting Ready To Ride (GR2R) series, you will recognize this as the first ride in the series.  It is a pleasant, mostly-flat ride, a nice way to start the season.

Let's meet at the Matthews Beach parking lot at 9:45 a.m. for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 10:00 a.m.

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville where we will turn around.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
