Free Group Ride
Lets ride to Snohomish and enjoy something sweet
Event has already happened.
Register - Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
For Covid -19 - Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.The club has issued new guidelines related to COVID-19 at the link above. Please do not plan to ride if you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing or other cold or flu-like symptoms, or have other risk factors.There is water at the start and some opportunities for lavatory facilities & hand washing on the route.
Ride start: Please arrive 20 minutes before the start of the ride. Check in with the ride leader when arriving. We will have the safety briefing before leaving on the ride. Water and restrooms are available at the start location.
Route: Come have fun and enjoy this fun bike ride; South Everett along Lowell Road to Snohomish coming back via the north side of the river.
Fenders: If the roads are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry.
Parking: Free parking at at Walter Hall Park. There is a bathroom at the start as well.
Pace: The pace is steady at 12 to 14 mph.
Food: Bring food or snacks to eat on the ride and midway we do have a planned stop (20 min) at the bakery in Snohomish on 1st Ave.
Mechanical: Be prepared to handle mechanical issues, if you have a problem e.g. flat tire. Bring a spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump and skills to fix flats and have a mobile phone and a plan for rescue in case your bike fails.
Cue sheets: No cue sheets will be provided. A Ride With GPS map file and cue sheet are available at the link, below. If you want a cue sheet, please print it and bring it along.
Weather cancellation: I am ready to ride unless there are "heavy rain showers." In that case, I'll post a ride-canceled message in the Comments block below, not later than two hours prior to start time. Ice, frost/snow or sub-freezing temperatures that makes driving to the start unwise also will cancel. If the weather looks iffy, check here before leaving for the ride. Finally, I work well with texting so don't hesitate to check in with me.
