Meadowbrook-Edmonds-Haller Lake

Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer,  disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

Join us for a ride from Meadowbrook Park in north Seattle on a 25-mile route at a steady pace (12 -14 MPH on flats with no wind).

This route offers continual, moderate hills, allowing for practice on our climbing and descending skills at a steady-pace effort. We will pedal through quiet neighborhoods of Seattle, Edmonds, and Shoreline, catching an impressive view of Puget Sound and visiting serene Haller Lake.

Let's meet at the parking lot of Meadowbrook Park, near the restrooms (by the playground and ball diamond), at 10:45 am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 11:00 am.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently.

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop for a short break at the Red Twig Cafe in Edmonds, at mile 11.5. There is also a restroom (port-o-let) available at 14.5 miles.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Have a plan in case you encounter a mechanical issue that can't be fixed on the ride. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. If you would like a cue sheet for the route, please print one from the Ride with GPS file below.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
