Auburn to Ristrettos

Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer,  disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

Please come and join me for a ride from Auburn to Ristrettos Cafe in Maple Valley.  We will enjoy a nice warm up on the first 5 miles of the route as we pass through Auburn.  At around mile 5.3 we begin our 4 mile easy climb up SE Auburn Black Diamond Road.  At the top we continue on, riding rollers to our rest stop at Ristrettos.   After a nice break of coffee and pastries we will head back.  It's all downhill on the return, except for a couple of tiny bumps.  When we turn left onto 218th Ave SE we will have a one mile 9% descent from the Black Diamond Plateau to the Green Valley below.  Once at the bottom it's a flat beautiful country road all the way back.

Please RSVP by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page.  Then put a checkmark in the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save.  By doing this you will save time at the ride start.  Note that this RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account. 

If weather conditions meet the cancel criteria on the day of the ride, I will post a ride-canceled notice in Comments, below, two hours prior.  Ice or snow also cancel.  Please check here before leaving for the ride.  

Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the ride start to ready your bike and hear the safety briefing.  If wet weather, please be courteous to other riders by having fenders on your bike (preferably extra long with a buddy/mud flap).

The club has issued new guidelines related to COVID-19 at the link above. Please do not plan to ride if you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing or other cold or flu-like symptoms, or have other risk factors.

Also there is no water at the start and limited opportunities for hand washing on the route. I would highly recommend all riders carry hand sanitizer or wipes at all times and use as appropriate.  Thanks for your cooperation.
