This is a Women's Ride. We are an inclusive, encouraging, positive group that welcomes all self-identifying women to experience the fun of riding your bike in the company of other like-minded women. We invite you to experience the fun of group riding while meeting new friends, getting in some exercise and good conversation. Whether you are a seasoned rider or it’s your first group ride, we would love to have you join us!
We will start at The Hangar in Kenmore and hit the trail following it to 124th then climb up Education Hill just north of Redmond. We will descend down into Redmond and stop at Trek Bicycle Redmond at mile 12 or so for a reststop. There are bathrooms, coffee and snacks available at the store. We are trying to time the ride to share the break with the other Cascade Women rides. After the break we’ll make our way to the 520 trail and then cut over to Old Redmond Road for a nice climb, drop down into Kirkland through Juanita, then up 100th Ave and then hit the trail, which will take us to back to the Hanger. We welcome you to stay for a bit at the end of the ride and have a coffee or beverage with the group.
RSVP & ARRIVAL TIME: Please RSVP by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page to save time at the ride start. Please be ready to ride 15 minutes prior to the ride (9:30), there will be a mandatory safety briefing and waiver check in.
PACE/ELEVATION: The listed pace, of Steady (12-14 mph) is based on the flats, with no headwind/tailwind, and at your own pace up hills. This is a stay together ride, we will wait at the top of climbs to give all riders a chance to catch a breath before continuing as a group. We are a group who encourages and empowers one another to achieve our personal goals. When using designated bicycle trails we will observe the posted speed limit.
PARKING/RESTROOMS: There is plenty of free parking both in The Hangar parking lot and on-street. Restrooms are available inside The Hangar.
PLANNED STOPS: There will be a restroom/coffee break at Trek Bicycle Redmond. Please bring ample hydration and additional nutrition with you, as necessary.
MECHANICALS: The group will stop for mechanicals. Bring tools, knowledge to repair flats and a plan (ie: Orca card or a friend/Uber to call) if you have a more serious mechanical failure or choose to not repair your flat roadside.
RECOMMENDED/REQUIRED: Helmets are required. Head and tail lights recommended for safety. Mirrors are highly recommended. For the safety and comfort of yourself and your fellow riders, fenders with long buddy flaps are appreciated if roads are damp or rain is in the forecast. If you are spraying other riders you will be asked to ride in the back of the group.
RIDE CANCELLATION: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride start and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location.
