Kenmore-Edmonds Lunch Run (Short Loop)
Event has already happened.
Let's do lunch! This is the mellower short route from Bothell Ski & Bike in Kenmore through Lynnwood to Edmonds where we'll have lunch at the Red Twig Cafe (about the 16 mile mark). Our stop will be about 30 minutes depending on the size of our group and food ordered. It's the off-season...time to relax :).
The ride to Edmonds has a good share of hills sprinkled along the route with breaks here and there and then a fun mostly downhill run into Edmonds. On our return we'll climb out of the Edmonds Bowl via Dayton & 9th, continuing with moderate ups and downs until we are rewarded with the always fun descent down Perkins as we head toward Kenmore.
We'll maintain a moderate pace (14-16 mph) on the flats w/o the benefit or hindrance of wind, slower ascending/faster descending. This is a stay together ride, regrouping as necessary, so you can climb and descend at your own pace.
Riders should bring tools and knowledge to repair flats and minor mechanicals (e.g., patch kit, spare tube, pump, multi-tool). Please have a backup plan for any major mechanicals (someone to call for a rescue or an ORCA card). It happens!
Fenders: For the comfort and safety of your fellow riders as well as yourself, full fenders with long buddy flaps (2" from the ground) are greatly appreciated if it is wet or there is a chance of rain. No fenders means you are happy to ride in the back of the group :-). Weather can change quickly this time of year, please be prepared for all conditions by having proper gear and equipment.
It is recommended that riders carry sufficient hydration and snacks in case of any delays.
Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to prepare yourself and your bike prior to the safety briefing. Ride starts promptly at 10:00.
Restrooms and water available at the start.
Parking: Please park in the spaces on the west side of the lot so that we do not impede Bothell Bike's customers.
Registration: To save time at the start and so that leader can properly prepare for the ride, please register by clicking on red Register Now button. No need to unregister should you find you are no longer able to ride.
Cancellation: Ride will be canceled for steady rain or any other dangerous riding conditions. Should conditions call for a cancellation day of ride, a cancellation notice will be posted in the comment section at least two hours prior. If conditions are questionable please check the comments below before leaving for the start. Leader will not be at start if ride is canceled 2+ hours prior to start.
