Tour de Brunch Rides Again #17: Tacoma + Wild Fin

Tour de Brunch Rides Again - October Stage early (again) - the end of the month is going to be busy! 

Stage #17 : A shorter ride starting with Tacoma's newly opened Wilson Way bridge linking Point Ruston to Point Definace, followed by a spin around the Five Mile Drive and return via North Tacoma, Stadium District, Old Town and Ruston Way. Optional post ride brunch at Wild Fin. Links to the route on Ride with GPS and to Wild Fin below.

Pace is moderate - expecting riders to be able to sustain a speed of 14 to 16 mile per hour on flat, windless terrain for about two hours. We will take hills at our own paces and regroup after hills /  before turns if we get spread out. Paces tend to vary with climbs and descents.  Faster riders are welcome to go ahead and the group will wait for slower riders, within reason.  Please send a message or post a comment if you are unsure if this is a good ride for you or if you have any other questions. Helmets are required for all participants on Cascade Free Group rides. Some other good things to have: a charged cell phone, ID, water and snacks, supplies to fix a flat (spare tube, pump, tire levers) fenders on your bike if roads are wet, front and back lights. Bring a credit card and/or cash, especially if you are staying for brunch. Also, bring a bike lock, especially if you are staying for brunch. There is nowhere in the restaurant or within sight of restaurant seating where bikes can be left unsecured. 

Parking at Point Ruston is 2$ per hour, unless you make a purchase a Point Ruston business within an hour of arriving.  If coming by car and wish to avoid this fee, consider parking elsewhere (maybe Point Defiance Park or Dune Park?) and riding to the start. We will be meeting in front of Wild Fin at 9:15am for introductions and a brief safety talk. 

For the sake of clarify and time saving at the start, please register for the ride by clicking the red "Register Now" button at the top. Basic Cascade Bicycle Club memberships are now FREE - so become a basic member if you do not already have an account (or be sure to show up at 9:15 so you can fill in and sign the waiver before we ride at 9:30).   

Cancellation Policy: Steady rain cancels. If the ride is canceled, the cancellation will be posted in the comments section below before 7:30 am and ride leader will not be at the start.
