Mt. Baker, Madrona & the Spite House

Join us for a 20.1 mile, 1,600' elevation gain ride as we visit hidden trails and scenic views in the neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, Atlantic, Mt. Baker, Madrona, Leschi, and Montlake.  Along the way, we will visit Interlaken Park, Boren Park, Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Park, Mt. Baker Ridge Viewpoint, Colman Park, the Spite House, and West Montlake Park.  We will ride on a couple of dirt trails, several paved trails, a few cobblestone streets, and will have one set of stairs to climb and another to descend.  We will also have multiple short, steep climbs including E. Terrace (the third steepest street in Seattle at 21%).  There will also be a couple of optional bonus climbs for the climbing enthusiasts (36th Ave. E. and a paved path in Madrona).  Those not wanting to do the optional climbs will get short rest breaks while these climbs are being done.  We will re-group on the top of all significant climbs.   

Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.  

You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.

Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.

The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above.  The ride leader will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information.
