Meet Gig Harbor Parks Manager Nicole Jones-Vogel: Cushman Trail Social Lunchtime Ride
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Did you know that Cushman Trail is one of the City of Gig Harbor's parks? Please join our new Parks Manager, Nicole Vogel-Jones and me as we tour this wonderful city asset by bike. We'll be meeting in front of City Hall (Gig Harbor Civic Center on Grandview) at 12:30 for introductions and safety talk. (Ride will start approximately 12:45) Parking and bathrooms are available at the start. This is a social ride. Faster riders are welcome to go faster on trail sections. We will regroup at all trailheads. Ride will be two "out and backs" . The first one on the flatter section towards 14th, and the second one, with a couple of hills, towards Borgen. Optional post ride at Kimball Coffeehouse, around the corner from the start location. Route is pretty straight forward and linked below.
Please register for the ride by using the "Register Now" button at the top of the page. You can sign the waiver at the ride start, but it will save us time if you register on-line at least two hours before the ride start time. Basic Cascade memberships are now FREE, so please sign up. If you register and your plans change, there is no need to "unregister". If you are not there at the start time, we'll assume you are not coming and will look forward to seeing you on another ride.
If you are new to Cascade free group rides, please read our newcomer information (link above). Please note: helmets are required on all Cascade rides and also required by law in Gig Harbor. Other strongly recommended items to bring with you: water, snacks, a spare tube, tire levers and anything else needed to change a flat tire, a charged cell phone, ID, a credit card and some cash. If roads are wet, please have fenders on your bike.
Cancellation Policy: Steady rain cancels - if needed, a weather cancellation will be posted in the Comments sections below two hours prior to the ride start time and the ride leader will not be at the start location. If the weather is questionable, please check here before leaving for the ride.
