FRIDAY RIDERS: **Early Start** Juanita Beach Park - SR520 Trail and Bridge - Burke Gilman Trail

NOTE EARLY START at 9 AM. Join us for a ride from Juanita Beach Park on a 26.8 mile route at a leisurely pace 10-12 MPH!

This fun ride starts in Kirkland at Juanita Beach Park and goes uphill on Market Street. Progress south on Lake Street to the scenic SR520 Trail and uphill to the 520 bridge. After crossing the bridge we transition through the U-district to the scenic Burke Gilman Trail and head east - paved and flat. There will be a break and food stop opportunity at the Metropolitan Market near the trail. Bring snacks or money if you wish to purchase food at the market. Afterwards, continue east on the Burke Gilman Trail to the old Wayne Golf Course. Leave the trail and head uphill on Kirkland roads and back to the Juanita Beach Park and the cars.

Let's meet at the Juanita Beach Park at 8:45 AM for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9 AM to beat the heat.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. Experience climbing hills and some low gears are recommended.

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/food/water at the Metropolitan Market near the half way point.

You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. During the summer months a full water bottle is recommended. Please bring a helmet - it is a requirement!

Note: If weather conditions are HOT or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
