Free Group Ride
Century Snohomish to LaConner and Back with the Three Amigos
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from 8:00 am on a 105 mile route at 14-16 from Snohomish to La Conner and back with the Three Amigos.
The route and cue sheet is linked below titled "Snohomish to La Connor and Back".
This is a long ride and we will have lunch in La Conner with a nice long break. Be prepared to bring other snacks and plenty of water. We will stop as needed for natural breaks. Fairly flat ride with some hills both going and coming, but we stay together, nobody gets dropped. There are some circumstances that arise where somebody may need to find their own way home, like breaking a chain, so make sure to have a cue sheet or phone for help. If 100 miles is too far, having somebody pick you up in La Conner after 50 miles is a good plan "B". Make sure to drink plenty of water the day before to get hydrated.
The "Three Amigos" refers to three friends who have been riding together for years, two of us became ride leaders to spread the physical and social aspect of bike riding with our Cascade Clubs friends. Our third Amigo was a ride leader for 8 years with the Snohomish Bicycle Shop. The Three Amigos rides will have a similar feel to it. We stay together and encourage each other at all times.
Let's meet at the Snohomish Boys and Girls Club at 7:50 am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 8:00 am
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together
Restrooms are not available at the start but will be at the five-mile mark in Machias.
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Expectations (important, please read!): Be ready to ride 10 minutes before the start of the ride to participate in the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the chosen pace. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled by 6:00 am, it will be posted in the comment section. In that case, the ride leaders will not be at the start.
