Free Group Ride
Redmond to Ballard Locks Concert ride
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride that’s a bit different: we are going to start at Marymoor Park in Redmond and ride for about 2 hours on the 520 and Burke Gilman Trails to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (aka Ballard Locks). There we will spend a couple hours on the grass listening to a free concert by the Kirkland Civic Orchestra who will play a mix of popular selections. Then we’ll return on the same route.
Details:
We meet at the South end of the East Lake Sammamish Trail parking lot next to Whole Foods, on the East side of Marymoor Park. Please plan to be there about 10:45am to hear the route briefing and safety notes. We’ll leave the park at 11:00am to get to the Locks between 1 - 1:30pm. The concert starts at 2pm. You may want to bring a picnic along with you. After taking in the concert we’ll ride back the same way, leaving around 3:30pm to get back to Redmond around 5:30pm. So the entire ride and concert should take about 6 - 6.5 hours. Please keep in mind that you’ll cool down once we get to the concert.
Riders should be able to sustain a Steady pace. Please download the route to your device or print your own cue sheet. Please come with the skills and equipment to change a flat; the group does not stop for mechanicals.
Please RSVP. It’s not required, but much appreciated. Also be sure to sign the online waiver by clicking on the red Register Now button for this ride above.
Any other important info will be posted in the Comments section at least two hours before the ride start.
