Free Group Ride
Saturday Morning Social Ride with the Three Amigos
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from 9:00 am on a 32 mile route at 14- 16 !
The route and cue sheet is linked below titled "Marysville Park and Ride."
This is a Three Amigos ride from North Everett. It has very little elevation gain to it, 868 feet over almost 32 miles, a couple of small spikes along the way but this is basically a flat ride. The "Three Amigos" refers to three friends who have been riding together for years, two of us became ride leaders to spread the physical and social aspect of bike riding with our Cascade Clubs friends. Our third Amigo was a ride leader for 8 years ( Non-Cascade rides ). The Three Amigos rides will have a similar feel to it. We stay together and encourage each other at all times.
Let's meet at the Marysville Park & Ride at 8:50 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:00.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace ( although on this ride there are very few hills - one significant hill at the end just because) , and our goal will be to stay together. Nobody gets dropped. We do everything we can to help with mechanical issues. There are some circumstances that arise where somebody may need to find their own way home, like breaking a chain, so make sure to have a cue sheet or phone for help. It is a social ride. If you have been riding at a steady pace and are ready to try a moderate ride, this is the ride for you. We stay together. However, like every other Amigo ride, you will not be dropped. Your efforts will be rewarded as you are cheered on by the "Peloton". If you are a steady rider, this route you will be able to test your endurance at a little faster flat speed. We have all been through the process of trying to get to another level. We applaud those who are making the effort, we will wait.
And since it is a social ride we normally go for coffee after the ride.
Restrooms are not available at the start, we will stop along the way as needs be.
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Expectations (important, please read!): Be ready to ride 10 minutes before the start of the ride to participate in the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the chosen pace. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled by 7:00 am, it will be posted in the comment section. In that case, the ride leaders will not be at the start.
