Free Group Ride
Saturday Morning Social Ride
Event has already happened.
Join us for a ride from Legion Park on a 25-mile route at 14-16!
We will be riding along the Snohomish River and Grand Avenue in Everett.
Let's meet at the Legion Park at 8:45 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:00 am.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together and regroup at the top of climbs. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH). On this ride, nobody gets dropped. ( We are like the Marines, nobody gets left behind ). We are social riders who enjoy a good pace and good exercise. In the event of a mechanical problem, we will do everything reasonable to stay together. Although riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical problem.
Restrooms are available at the start. We may stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 12.5 in Downtown Snohomish.
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
Expectations (important, please read!): Be ready to ride 5 minutes before the start of the ride to participate in the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the chosen pace. On this ride, nobody gets dropped. ( We are like the Marines, nobody gets left behind ). We are mostly social riders who enjoy a good pace and good exercise. In the event of a mechanical problem, we will do everything reasonable to stay together. Although riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical problem. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group, or want to finish the ride in the event we stop for a mechanical. Bringing a charged cell phone is handy for a multitude of situations. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled by 8:00 am, it will be posted in the comment section. In that case, the ride leaders will not be at the start.
