Lake Samish Loop - A day tour

Let's head north on a summer Saturday for a ride in Skagit and Whatcom Counties, including a loop of beautiful Lake Samish.   This route is gorgeous and on mostly quiet roads.  There are 2 major climbs and some rollers but we will regroup at the tops of major hills.   The pace will be steady and the intent is to spend the day enjoying the beauty and stopping for photos along the way.  If you want a fast ride or have a time constraint this is not the ride for you.  

We will stop at the bakery in Edison early in the ride to fuel up with goodies and who knows,  we may even stop again on the way back.  There is no official sit down lunch stop so bring a sandwich or other food to sustain you.   We will pass a convenience store at mile 16 where there is the usual convenience store type health food for purchase.   We will have a break at mile 21,   Lake Samish County Park to eat lunch ( bring your own)  use restrooms and top off water. 

The start location has sanicans but no water.  Bring 2 full water bottles and money for the bakery/convenience store.  Park in the lower lot  on the beach after entering the park.  A Discover Pass is required to park or there is a $10 parking fee. 

In the event of inclement weather I will post a cancellation notice by 6am on the day of the ride and then may not be at the ride start.   Please check the comments before driving to the start.  

If you have a basic Cascade account you may pre-register using the register button at the top of this posting.   (encouraged and appreciated)   If your plans change you do not need to unregister.   You may also sign in at the ride start.  Please arrive and be ready to ride by 8:20 as we will do the safety/ride briefing and depart promptly at 8:30.  We will not delay the start of the ride.
