Free Group Ride
FRIDAY RIDERS: Martha Lake to Lake Washington
Event has already happened.
We'll ride from the Martha Lake area down mostly quiet suburban streets to Log Boom Park and Lake Washington, then hop on the Burke Gilman and Sammamish River Trails to get the the UW Bothell area. We'll have a refueling stop at Potbelly Sandwiches before heading back via the North Creek Trail.
Note that about half a mile of the North Creek trail is hard packed gravel on the top of a dike, quite rideable for most bikes, and with great views of the surrounding wetlands. We'll enjoy the new half mile stretch of the North Creek Trail that parallels Bothell Everett Highway on the west side between 214th St SE and 208th St. SE as we make our way to Centennial Park for a brief stop, then back to our starting point via Filbert and North Roads, while dreaming of the day the trail keeps going north to connect with the Mill Creek section that is already in place.
Bring money for the refueling stop, water and snacks, and a spare tube and tools for flat fixing. Come early for the safety briefing -- we'll try to leave promptly at 10am.
If it's raining or extremely windy that day, I'll post a cancellation notice here by 8:00 am. If it looks like intermittent rain showers, I'll be at the ride start and will consult the Dark Sky app to make my decision about riding or not. Feel free to call me at 425-238-4045 for updates that morning.
