Sufferin' Summits
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Warning: This is very hilly and steep ride. It starts out hard and only gets worse. The full route is similar in effort to the Passport2Pain “Idiot” route.
Sufferin’ Summits strings together the hills of the “Issaquah Alps” to pack as much elevation gain as possible into a 55 mile ride. It features 4 climbs of 1000’ or more and some of the best views in the area at the top of the climbs. This ride is for experienced riders who are comfortable navigating and riding independently. This is a self-paced ride, so we will not regroup, nor will there be any support personnel, vehicles, or official sweeps.
There are three different route options:
- The Quarter climbs up Grand Ridge and Squak Mountain for 2100’ of elevation gain in 15 miles.
- The Half adds on a climb up Talus and the Zoo Hill Complex, for 4600' of elevation gain in 32 miles.
- The Full adds climbs up Summit (North and South sides) and Sommerset (South and West sides), for 8500’ of elevation gain in 56 miles.
There is a full preview of the route here.
Note: The route can be confusing at times, and your GPS may not always give you the right directions. Please download a cue sheet ahead of time and familiarize yourself with the route, or ride with somebody who understands the route.
Wet roads will cancel the ride.
Please use the online registration associated with this ride; it allows you to pre-sign the waiver and helps us know how many riders to expect.
