Free Group Ride
A Hill, a Doughnut, and a Lake
Event has already happened.
Why just cruise for doughnuts when you can also climb for doughnuts? Earn your treat by riding from Perrigo Park in Redmond, up Sahalee road and through the quiet streets of Sammamish to Pine Lake Park, then down to Lake Sammamish. It’s all flat from there to our rest stop at Legendary Doughnuts in Issaquah and back to Redmond along East Lake Sammamish.
This will be a moderate paced ride that will stay in the mid-range (+/- 15 mph) on the flats. There are a few hills on this route, but we will climb at our own pace and regroup at the top of each hill. Please review the route ahead of time and print your own cue-sheet as the ride leader will not have copies at the start. Riders should be able to sustain the pace, carry nutrition/water, and have the know-how and equipment to fix a flat tire.
If there is any potential for wet roads, come prepared with fenders with buddy flaps on your bike. For safety and good karma, buddy flaps should be long enough to keep the rider behind you dry. The ride will be canceled with showers, high winds, flooding, ice/snow, or other unsafe riding conditions. Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section of this post at least two hours before the ride start. If canceled, the ride leader will not be at the start.
We will start at Perrigo Park. There are restrooms and water at the start, Pine Lake Park at mile 13.5, and Legendary Doughnuts at mile 19.8.
Please register for the ride by clicking on the “Register Now” button. This allows us to print the ride list beforehand, provides legible emergency contact information, and saves us time at the start. Arrive at least 20 minutes early so you can ready your bike, sign the waiver, and listen to the S.M.A.R.T. safety briefing. This allows us to have an on-time departure.
