This ride and route will follow the Get Ready to Ride Route Seattle #3. Please see the link for the route map and cue sheet below. The ride leader will not provide a map or cue sheet. If you would like a map and cue sheet please make a copy and bring them with you to the ride.
Route: This route is as follows, we will ride on the Burke Gilman Trail east from Gas Works Park, across the Montlake Bridge, ride east across the 520 (Evergreen Point floating bridge), and then head north through Kirkland. In Kirkland we will take a bathroom break and then head back south to the 520 Bridge. We will then return to the start location, via the Montlake Bridge, on to the Burke Gilman Trail riding west, arriving back at Gas Works Park. This is an urban ride, on bike lanes, trails and city streets.
Cancelations: In addition to rain, both ice/snow and any other hazardous conditions will cancel the ride. If the ride is canceled due to weather or hazardous conditions, a notice will be posted here, in the comments section below, by 11:00 a.m. on the day of the ride. If that notice is posted, the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
Ride Notes: All riders should bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails; and snacks and water. Waiting for mechanical issues will be at the discretion of the ride leader. It’s winter, so please dress appropriately and use fenders with long mudflaps on your bike. Please arrive at least 20 minutes early (12:40 p.m.) to get yourself ready, listen to the safety briefing and sign or check the waiver. 1:00 p.m. is roll-out time!
Bathrooms: They are available at the start point and in Kirkland at the half way point.
