Let's ride to the Tunnel Ride!
YOU MUST BE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR THE TUNNEL RIDE, SINCE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED WITH NO WAIT LIST.
Meet at the pavilion at the Cascade Bicycle Club headquarters ready to ride at 8:00 for route discussion and SMART safety talk. This will enable a prompt rollout at 8:15 to make sure we are at the Tunnel Ride start/finish point at 6th and Harrison in Seattle in plenty of time ahead of the 10:00am tunnel entry cutoff time. Our route (see link below) is on trails and city streets.
You may treat this as a one-way group ride and do your own thing at the Tunnel Ride and the start/finish line activities, and then return on your own. You also have the option to do the Tunnel Ride with me and return together to CBC HQ. In any event, please be prepared to return on your own if you get separated from the group. PLEASE DOWNLOAD OR PRINT THE ROUTE IN CASE YOU GET SEPARATED DURING THE TUNNEL RIDE. THE RWGPS ROUTE INCLUDES THE RETURN TO CASCADE BICYCLE CLUB.
- Please register in advance by clicking the red Register Now button at the top of this page, as this saves time at the start and enables the leader to email you in case of changes. (You need a Cascade Bicycle Club account, and starting one makes you a Basic-level member of the Club at no charge. Or you can register manually at the start.) You don't have to un-register if you can't make the ride.
- Pouring rain or other unsafe conditions will cancel the ride. If that happens, it will be announced in the comments section below at least two hours before start time and the Ride Leader will not be at the start.
- If the roads are wet or there is rain in the forecast, please be courteous to the rider behind you and have a long rear fender, or be willing to ride at the back of the group.
- Please come with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals or with a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there. If you have a problem the group will stop briefly to make sure you will be OK on your own.
What to Know Before You Go
- Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
- Helmets required.
- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
