Free Group Ride
Hills for Beginners #5
Event has already happened.
Do you really hate hills but want to learn to do them? This ride is targeted for those true really SLOW hill climbers. The format of this ride is that we will talk about climbing hills, both the physical process and tips to make it easier as well as the mental part (which is actually the hardest part). We will ride a short distance from the start and do hill repeats on some easier hills Each rider will climb at his/her own pace. If you are faster you just get to do more. I will ride along and give pointers and encouragement. No GPS route file provided for this ride. We will make it up as we go.
Please note that even though this is the fifth in a series of rides, new folks are welcome. Everyone climbs at their own pace after all.
There are no restrooms at the start, but they are available at a park (yes down a hill) close by. Bonus climb back after!
Bring what you need to fix any flats or mechanicals and have a bailout if you cannot continue for some reason. Also bring water, some food and a good attitude!
Please arrive 20 minutes early to have your bike ready to go and listen to the ride briefing 10 minutes before we start. We will ride for an hour or two depending on the weather and how everyone's legs feel. Anyone who is done earlier will easily be able to go sooner as we will be near the start.
If weather meets the conditions to cancel I will post a comment here that the ride is canceled by 8:00 AM and I will not be at the start.
